Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy (sometimes called talk therapy) refers to a variety of treatments that aim to help a person identify and change challenging emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps an individual with mental health challenges not only alleviate symptoms, but also identify the psychological root causes of one’s condition.  This helps a person to function better in everyday life and have better emotional well-being.

Conditions that can be helped by psychotherapy include coping with stressful life events, the impact of trauma, medical illness, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with other non-traditional forms of therapy. At Embodied Pathways, Elise offers 50 minute individual Psychotherapy sessions on consistent schedules (i.e. weekly or bi-weekly) and as-needed.
